Tiscali are running a fantastic new offer - their basic broadband package is just £6.49 for the first 3 months of your contract (and then it reverts to just £12.99 a month). This gives you a free wireless router, up to 5GB download a month and free weekend UK & International calls.

If you’re looking for more usage allowance then there are offers for you too! Up to 10GB usage you pay £8.49 per month for the first 3 months (and then £14.99) or for unlimited downloads the price is £9.49 a month for 3 months and then £17.99 thereafter. Bizarrely the latter two packages come with a free modem, but you must pay an extra £20 for the wireless router that is free on the basic package!

Best for Broadband wonders whether you could save yourself £20 by selecting the basic package, and then after a month or so upgrade to the higher packages for extra downloads?

That aside this is quite a nice introductory offer especially as BT Broadband charge £8.95 a month for their basic package. Tiscali will also manage a switch from another provider for you (you just need a MAC address). Note that they do tie you in to a 12 month contract and there’s fair use policy on downloads.
