They are also moving away from the unlimited usage model, instead using mainly inclusive usage allowances. The reason for this say is it will enable them to provide through put speeds for their customers that are as close to the maximum that their line will support as possible.

What’s more these new products enable customers to optimise their broadband by setting differing priority levels for the different activities they perform online, so assisting in the overall improvement of the customer line speed experience. So for example you can choose to give the highest priority to simple web browsing and emailing and none to gaming or vice versa.

The following products are now available:

Business Products
1. Home Office
2. Business 20
3. Business 50
4. Business Unlimited

Residential Products
1. Home Lite Broadband
2. Home Select Broadband
3. Home Pro Broadband

It’s unclear whether existing Eclipse customers will be moved on to these new tariffs.

UK business ISP Eclipse Internet was awarded the titles of Best Business ISP and Best Business Email at the 2008 Internet Service Provider Awards (ISPAs) in London on Friday 14 March. The ISPA event, now in its tenth year, recognises innovation and best practice in the internet service provider sector, and is unique in that accolades are awarded to industry figures and organisations by their peers.

Commenting on the awards, Mark Thomas, Head of Sales and Marketing at Eclipse Internet, said, “Over the last 18 months we have complemented the business-grade broadband access we offer with a range of new services that help businesses to operate more efficiently, including online data back-up, hosting services, hosted applications and e-commerce solutions.

“We are delighted that our growing reputation as the ISP of choice for businesses has been recognised by the industry through the achievement of not one but two business ISPA awards. But ultimately, it’s customer satisfaction that we strive for above all else, and to this end, we’ll keep investing in the type of services and the level of customer and technical support that businesses want.”

In order to reach the finals of the awards, each ISP is subjected to close scrutiny, with internet and email services monitored for a period of over three months to measure speed and reliability. In addition, contract options, product prices, value-added services, customer support and time from order to delivery are also assessed by an independent panel of judges. Five finalists are shortlisted in each category based on these strict measurements and assessments.
