Wireless Broadband

Wireless Broadband allows you to surf the internet on your computer, laptop or PDA anywhere in your home (and sometimes even your garden) without the need for your computer to be connected via cables to a modem. It’s ideal if you have more than one computer and it means you can surf the internet at the same time through the one broadband connection.

If you are interested in Wireless Broadband then you will need a Wi-Fi router – this is essentially a high-speed modem and Wi-Fi transmitter all in one box. It connects to your phone line and means that all your computers can connect to the internet. Note that each computer will need a Wi-Fi adaptor to receive the transmitted signal. These are relatively cheap and just plug into a spare USB port. Some laptops already come with their own in-built adaptor.
